Rancho Cortez

Went here with my husband for his birthday, we absolutely loved it! Very beautiful place! The wranglers Trey & Travis were so friendly and the owner was hilarious, made us laugh a lot during the lasso lessons. Everyone was so welcoming and kind. The food was great and all the activities were so much fun. This was such an amazing experience, we definitely want to come back with our kids.

WHAT A GREAT EXPERIENCE!! We did the Full Day Dude Ranch Visit. From the moment we got there we were welcomed by amazing staff. Everyone was so friendly and went out of their way to help us and answered all our questions. DONNA was so wonderful and her cooking was absolutely amazing. She made sure that after a long trail ride we were plenty full. CORA spent most of the day with us from taking us riding, to teaching us how to lasso, then feeding the cows and donkeys. We ended our day with the amazing CORA by the campfire sharing stories over smores. We could not have asked for a better experience thanks to these two ladies. I would highly recommend Rancho Cortez for a great Ranch Experience. Thank you Rancho Cortez for the memories... we will definitely be back. ❤️🐎

We (family of four from the UK, on holiday in the Hill Country) booked a single day experience at Rancho Cortez on a weekday in mid-August. We arrived and quickly checked in at reception and then it was straight to the stables to meet the wranglers and our horses and out on our first trail ride. Our kids (aged 9 and 12), who had never ridden horses before, were at ease, enjoying themselves and feeling empowered to direct their animals. After that it was lunch time in the dining hall, with some very tasty home-cooked food and some moreish lemonade. Our daughter, who has multiple food allergies, was well looked after and the staff were careful to prepare her food separately and explain to us exactly what was in it, which was much appreciated. The afternoon flew by - we had another trail ride, fed some goats, fed some longhorn calves, and walked around the ranch. A pretty big storm in the middle of the afternoon didn't affect proceedings much, and we had a great time in the games room trying out rope tricks and watching our wrangler show us how it's done. Our home-cooked dinner was just as good as lunch and then we topped off the day making s'mores before heading back to our hotel near San Antonio. All in all we had a fantastic day at the ranch and we really appreciated how all the staff worked hard to keep us entertained the entire time we were there. Thanks to Trey, Don, Travis and everyone else at Rancho Cortez!

We spent a day at Rancho Cortez while visiting San Antonio from PA. We loved it and can't wait to return for a longer stay on the ranch! The people were incredibly friendly and accommodating. We felt so welcome and enjoyed chatting with everyone and learning about the ranch and animals. Our 6 year old was nervous about horseback riding and they were so sweet and took every step to help build her confidence. We also really loved the wagon rides and feeding the Longhorn Cattle. Great family fun experience!

We rode horses on an amazing trail with beautiful views. Trey, our guide was awesome. The coolest cowboy. We knew nothing about horses and never even saw one up close but thanks to Trey, we were galloping along in no time and traversing all sorts of terrain. I felt like a true cowgirl. The weather was nice too. It was overcast so the sun wasn't beating down on us and we could smell the rain in the air. Very movie-like experience. I'm definitely coming here again next time I'm in Texas.🤠🐎🫶🏾☀️
