From start to finish Jeremy made the booking process, buying tags, and making it to your hunt very simple. Jeremy is easy to talk to and makes you feel at ease and trusting of Sierra Blanca Outfitters when booking your hunt. Once we arrived we met Peter who got us all set up in the lodge. The lodge is a nice double wide trailer with all of the amenities you will need for a week long stay. The ladies cooking the meals for the stay were excellent. All of the food was homemade and better than you can buy in a restaurant. Peter was our guide on the first morning of our hunt and had us on elk right off the bat. We couldn’t have been set up in a better spot. Peter wasn’t the only good guide there. There were eight hunters in the lodge this week and four of the hunters killed on the first day. We left early because of obligations at home but I would bet there is a 100% success/opportunity with in our group of hunters. The only negative of the whole trip was the mattresses. You may consider bringing an air mattress. That may be more comfortable than sleeping on some of the beds. I’ve never left a review before but felt it was important for others when researching these outfitters to know what they should expect. I did a lot of research before booking this hunt and reviews are the main source of information. Over all I highly recommend Sierra Blanca Outfitters to anyone looking for a guided hunt in New Mexico. We booked one hunt for this trip and was successful and before we left we booked for four hunters next elk season.
From the time I walked in to Pete's camp, I felt at home , such a professional as well as his team that works hard to make your hunt a success, I wish I could have stayed longer but would not trade it for the world when you tag out the first day of your archery hunt on a 300 " plus bull, if you have not goen to hunt with sierra outfitters, you need to call Pete and ask for Isaac to guide you what a great guide, I will be back
I was out there this this week for a late season rifle hunt, and even though we did not get an elk we had a blast. We had a bad winter storm blow in the morning we got there. In truly believe that was the only reason for being unsuccessful. Jeremy was my guide, the hunting was tough but he made it fun. The housing was clean and nice the food was amazing, Stella knows how to cook! All the guides there were fun to be around, I will be going back! The only complaint was the 2 feet of snow we got the morning we arrived in town, but they can’t help that and did everything they could to get us an opportunity. Thanks fellas see you soon!
We had a great turkey hunt with Pete. Inspite of heavy rains and snow storms my wife filled her tag putting her just an Osceola away from her grand slam. Great meals by Norma, Pete’s mom. Thanks again, Paul & Joann
My dad and I hunted with Sierra Blanca and filled two cow tags on our first day in the camp. Peter, Jeremy, and all of the other guys did a phenomenal job getting us into elk, working with us on what we could do, and then quickly getting meat taken care of. The amount of time that the guides have spent scouting and preparing comes through in all parts of the hunt. The lodge they have you stay in is fine, and there are now plenty of snacks there. Make sure you are prepared for all kinds of weather, especially in your vehicle. We were a day and a half late to our hunt because the roads going to Holman were closed, and several clients got stuck on I-40 for a day because of the road situation.
