Bader Ranch Texas Dove Hunts

I have been hunting the Bader Dove Ranch for the last 8 years. The Bader’s and all of their fuses and Staff are top notch. Excellent Birds. You will shoot a limit if you can down every 1 out of 4 to six bird’s flying over.This year 2025 will be our ninth year at the Ranch. They clean your Birds and be sure to bring plastic zip lock baggies and an ice cooler. If Please remember to bring a little cash to tip the excellent guides and Bird Cleaning staff. They earn it. Amazing!

I’ve been wanting to go to the Bader Ranch for the last couple years and something seem to get in the way. Well I drove from Houston last season and it was everything I hoped it would be! Everyone from the young lady that checked me in to the guide were extremely professional, kind, and just seemed like great people. I will definitely be back in 2024, and I’ve told everyone I know that hunts they are selling themselves short if they don’t experience the Bader Ranch! Thank you all for making my hunt so enjoyable.

Bader Ranch touts that they "offer a more private white wing dove hunting experience. We put fewer hunters around our fields which takes pressure off the birds. We don't like to feel crowded when we white wing dove hunt and we don't think our clients do either." This could not be further from the truth. Their small field was overloaded with hunters within 50 yards of each other, creating a patently dangerous situation; we had 7 other hunting parties of 4 or more people within a 50 yard radius. We were peppered quite a bit and one member of our party was shot in the face by another hunter who negligently shot at a low flying bird between our party and theirs. Accommodations were at Seco "Lodge" which was an aging double-wide, that smelled of ammonia and no wifi. While there was a pool table, nary an un-warped cue could be found. This place advertises itself as a premier hunting experience, but falls way short of that claim. They are worse than any other place I have been packing in day hunters to a dangerous level with no consideration given to safety. When addressed with the guide, we were dismissed and told "Well we have a lot of hunters booked today." I cannot and will not recommend Bader Ranch to anyone.

Had a great hunt. Saw more birds than I have ever seen in my life. Was a difficult year due to drought but their were more than enough birds for everyone to get their limit. Staff was great. They had a pretty good cleaning station for your birds. This was my second time. My only complaint was the second day hunting in a field their were a little too many hunters crammed in this field at times and I saw some VERY risky shots being made. Other than that really enjoyed my hunt and will be returning next year.
