The most authentic South Dakota pheasant ranch you could ask for. It’s an all inclusive experience with lodging, three squares meals per day, and open bar every day. Multiple houses that you can stay at on the ranch, every meal was handled by the staff. Barn with a bar, pool table, poker table, trap shooting and hot tubs. Days consisted of breakfast around 8 am, hunting from 9 am - 1 pm, lunch, then hanging out on the ranch until dinner around 7 pm. For hunting, we were driven around on buses to various fields on the farm, full of pheasants. Easy walking, close up shooting and the guides could not have done a better job at making it a memorable experience. Rest of the day after hunting was for relaxing, hanging out, trap shooting, and some drinks in the barn. Trap shooting was at your leisure, could go up and use the machine whenever which we used prior to hunting and after. They have a gift shop with shirts, vests, hunting gear, shells for purchase, and coolers if you want to take some of your game home. Lots of people that come here are repeat customers because of how authentic and homey this place feels. The family that runs this farm are done to earth, great people. Highly recommend.
I have hunted at Medicine Creek for over 15 years … great hunting, accommodations, food, and service! Without question the only place I would ever go to hunt pheasant!
What an amazing experience! I grew up quail hunting wild quail in Georgia. Over the past few decades however there is no natural habitat for them so we have had to hunt pen raised quail instead. This led to hunting pen raised pheasant in GA as well. We recently had the opportunity to visit Medicine Creek and hunt some wild pheasant. We shot our limit everyday. I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to hunt pheasant in GA again! The hunts were unbelievable, and the food was just as good! Mike and his family/staff really know how to treat folks. If you can get out to South Dakota, this is the place for pheasant hunting!
My favorite trip every year is the hunt at Medicine Creek pheasant ranch. The Authier Family and staff do an excellent job. I’ll be there every fall.
Look forward to our next visit! My dad is now 99.6 years old and still has fond memories of our visits to MCPR!
