Excellent food, saw more deer than ever before or since in my life combined in 3 days... Guides are very nice and helpful, and highly trained dogs ensure the animals do not escape if they don't fall immediately. Accommodations are clean and comfortable. The owner and guides meet with the hunters at night at the dinner table and say Grace before a very tasty home cooked meal, which always has seconds available. Family friendly atmosphere, large screen remote tv, private bathrooms... Doesn't get any better for this price!

Terry and Connie run a class outfit, there guides are all pros and gentlemen. The food is great and the lodging is the most pleasant and cleanest you will find. The deer hunting is very good too, we will be going back for our third time. Great people, great place.

Terry and Miss Connie are fantastic people. The lodge is spacious and very clean. The meals are out of this wotld and I guarantee you will gain weight. Terry has taken great pains to make sure that everything is top notch and that each and every hunter has a good hunt. This man is straight up and if he tells you something you can be assured that it is the truth. 2018 will be the 17th year that i have hunted at blackwater and i have enjoyed every minuet of it. If you want to see what true southern hospitality is all about call Terry and book a hunt ,you wont be disappointed. Happy Hunting, Chuck

I am going to give you a review from a woman's perspective, as most women are picky and pay attention to all details. My boyfriend and I drove 15 hours from upstate NY. As we arrived, both Blackwater Guides came out to help us unload all of our gear and luggage. Terry greated us at the door with a friendly, warm welcome. The lodge was absolutely beautiful, exactly how the brochure depicts. Our room was very clean and so comfortable. We unpacked and got dressed for our evening hunt. I was in a buck only stand for the first evening. I saw 10 doe and 25 turkeys. This was the most I've seen in 1 sitting than I've seen in a year in NY! Our 3.5 day hunt, I saw 32 doe, 2 bucks, and so many turkeys I lost count! I'm a fairly new hunter, with 4 harvests under my belt. I had 3 good opportunities to shoot, but missed 2x. Once because my scope was loose and the other because I held my barrel down too hard, squeezing the floating barrel, so I shot under the deer. However, the other 5 hunters in our group harvested a total of 10 deer, 3 being Bucks. The Guides are Southern gentleman with a great, fun sense of humor! Being the only girl at camp, my guide Corey, took extra care of me. He made sure to explain each area I was put in and where to pay close attention for the deer. He carried my pack up the ladder stand for me a few times. The guides drop you off and pick you up at your stand. Talk about service! Now on to the amazing dinners. Our cook was beyond fabulous! I can not express how much I appreciated hunting all day to come back to a full course, home cooked meal. Every night was phenomenal! The kitchen is spotless before and after dinner is served. I only had the pleasure of meeting Terry's wife, Connie, 1 evening. For that short time she seemed pleasant. As for Terry, he was at the Lodge every morning by 4:30, there when we arrived after the morning hunt, and there when we arrived in the evening. He strategized before every hunt with our Guides, and had dinner with us every evening. I truly enjoyed listening to everyone's hunting stories at the dinner table. I think my only suggestion for Terry to improve his highly professional outfit is to have his Cooks put together a cookbook for purchase. Otherwise, we have decided that Blackwater Hunting Services will be our Annual Hunting Experience!

Terry Heirs is a gentleman and the accommodations are outstanding. We saw deer on every hunt. I even booked a quail hunt for my sons and am looking forward to another day at Blackwater. Everyday spent here are lifetime memories.
