Steens Mountain Guest Ranch

It was a blast! This experience exceeded our expectations. We had such a wonderful time. Tim was a perfect host, chef, and trail guide. Being this far out in the middle of nowhere was a truly unique experience, and we will cherish these memories for a very long time. The horses were in good condition, very well behaved, and sure-footed. Thank you for everything!

My husband and I stayed with Tim and Susan at the Steens Mountain Guest Ranch last week and had an absolutely great experience. It's a real working cow ranch and we join in with the work and fun. I brought my own young, green horse and Tim and Susan were endlessly patient with both the horse and me. My husband is an extrovert and I'm an introvert and the experience worked for both us. I could not recommend going there more.

So, you want to be a cowboy? This is how you find out if you've got what it takes to be a real cowboy. My parents bought my family the spring cowboy experience for Christmas, and it exceeded all of our expectations. Tim and Susan were wonderful gracious hosts. They welcomed our young children, my wife and I and my parents. I understand that our group was larger than what they typically host, but they made us feel at home and we had a fabulous time. The food was delicious, their home was welcoming, the cabins where we stayed were clean and comfortable. Not to mention beautiful. We rode horses, checked on the cows and calves, did some other ranch chores and hung out with Tim and Susan and their son and grandchildren. I would recommend this experience to anyone who loves horses, the outdoors, cows and peace and quiet. You will not be disappointed. I've already been on Zillow looking for property in Diamond. :) 10/10 would go again.

Amazing experience!!! My daughter and I just went for the Kiger Mustang Experience. We've been talking non stop about the wonderful time we had. Tim and Susan are wonderfully warm and relaxed hosts. The accommodations were relaxing and comfortable. The riding was wonderful, the horses gentle and very responsive. We felt safe and exhilarated all at the same time. The mustangs were magnificent, Tim and Susan did not rest until we had seen them. We cannot wait to do it again!!! Thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality we will definitely not forget this experience!

Had a great time! Tim and Susan were great hosts and Tim and Dan were perfect guides. They matched horses to each person's experience level and comfort (we had riders with no experience up to intermediate). We were a little concerned that the 4-hour ride might be too much for the zero-experience riders, but it worked out great! Did a stop about every hour or so to check out the views and stretch out a bit. Also loved the dog, Rosie, who ran alongside during the ride! Will hopefully be back at some point :)
