Ruggs Ranch

I was fortune enough to attend a 3 day bird hunt at Ruggs Ranch, a few years back, and it was one of the most memorable experiences of my lifetime! The guides were unbelievably professional and made this experience so fun! Great food, amazing views, perfect hunt, and incredible hospitality! I will return!

We just finished a 2 day hunt at Ruggs Ranch, and it was by far the best experience I have ever had. Not only was the hunting just perfect, but they provide the best customer service I’ve ever experienced. Everyone, from the guides to the lodge staff, were absolutely fantastic. Jacob and Luke were our guides, and we had a blast on and off birds. I can’t wait to come back.

Hunted there for two days last October with my son. Everything was perfect! However I have since learned that they stopped their own dog program and have given most of them up for rescue. There are dogs there now that live on concrete and have sores on their legs. There does not appear to be any pedigree or shot record for these hunting dogs. I would think twice if you are a dog lover.

We had a fabulous weekend of upland bird hunting at Ruggs Ranch. Great and varied terrain along with great wild birds. The guides and the dogs were the best I've seen, plus we had the "hunt off horses" experience that was a great success and a ton of fun. The food was gourmet quality with five star presentation. Of course we enjoyed wild game based fare along with good wines to accompany. Yes, the chef really does go by "Cookie". We were well taken care of by all the staff. Ruggs Ranch is the best overall upland hunting experience I've enjoyed across several ranches in the West and Midwest states. You cannot do any better. Enjoy!

We spent several days at the ranch and loved it! From the wonderful meals prepared for us by Keith, to the intimate and beautiful lodge, vast views, and comfortable surroundings - it was a memorable stay. We didn’t come to Ruggs for the eclipse, but what a bonus being able to view from the ranch! There are lots of beautiful outdoor spaces as well as darts, pool table, and keg in the game room – fun for all. Ruggs is a special place that we’d love to come back to!
