Only off point is that it doesn't show the weight of each chicken or the package date, but besides that everything about this order was great! Owners communicated clearly with me the whole process, provided me a tracking number, and the packaging was very well thought out! The chicken was still frozen solid when it arrived, defrosting one for dinner now. Super happy with my order!
UPDATE: This company refuses to take responsibility. Instead, it behaves like a victim and blames their "butcher" and deflects blame with statements like: "I don't know what else to do". The reality is simple: You're benefiting by collecting money yet you're not providing what's been paid for (you even go so far to actively mark orders as "complete" despite failure to ship). This is illegal. The fact that you're unaware of this shows how out of touch with reality you are. I'm going to file complaints with the FTC, the AG of Oregon and my own state's AG so that Oregon Valley Farm cannot continue to do this to innocent people. ------ Horrible.. placed an order in mid-August, it's now mid-September. And nothing. Have texted them numerous times. They haven't shipped my order. I am considering filing a chargeback. I don't think I've ever had an experience where I placed an order for $250 of meat and basically had to beg them to ship what I had already paid for. I read a few recent replies from the business about how things have been improved and how they have changed recently... well, that definitely hasn't been the case with me. Based upon my experience, this business seems dishonest. I'll give them another week prior to contacting my CC company.
Five stars for the beef; 1 star for the order fulfillment, which can take a month after you've sent them your grocery money, and is never quite as advertised. My latest shipment of "15~25 lbs" of ground beef in one subscription, plus a variable amount in the other, TOTALED 13 lbs, together. This keeps happening. And don't fall for the "subscribe now and receive two free steaks for life" game; they will forget the two free steaks over and over, and will apologize but will not make good. I'm desperately seeking a *reliable* source for beef of this excellent quality.
I haven’t had any of the chicken or beef we’ve gotten yet, as we just picked up yesterday. The quality of the meat might bring the review up to two or three stars at most. However, I was very very disappointed to see neither is local at all. Their beef comes from Washington almost 400mi away and the chicken comes from California also almost 400mi away. I don’t know where the pork comes from because our beef and pork box only had beef. It’s very frustrating that their website is misleading. I thought we were buying from an actual farm or at least from a local farm as the FAQ on their website clearly (and falsely) states. Photos provided to show what I’m talking about. We canceled our subscription immediately and will just stick to a local CSA so we know where our meat is coming from. I will update this review when we eat some of the meat.
The hamburger patties are juicy and delicious. I’m cooking them again now. The best patties I’ve ever had. The only problem is that it takes too long to get them and they substitute the wrong meat for what you ordered so I ordered a tri-tip and I received a picanha . I ordered a chuck roast and received an arm roast. Definitely look over your order when you receive it.
