This place is incredible! They have an impressive array of animals and birds, and the staff is very friendly. My favorite part of this place is that you can tell the staff actually care about the animals - and that the animals genuinely seem to enjoy seeing humans. I felt great supporting Wildlife West and their mission. Highly recommended if you want to bolster your trip with a dose of beautiful nature - while contributing to something you can feel good about. Heidi (the wolfdog) will even come give you a howl! 🐺

We visited a hidden gem of a zoo in Edgewood, not too far from Albuquerque, and had the best time! The place is surprisingly big, and the animals there are so friendly and well taken care of. It honestly deserves way more visitors — we were the only ones there that day, which made the experience peaceful but also a little sad because this amazing place should be shared and appreciated more. You can really tell the animals are happy and used to people. We had so much fun walking around, taking our time, and getting up close to the animals. It’s such a special spot, perfect for a day trip with family or friends. I truly hope more people find out about this zoo — it’s absolutely worth the visit!

This is a must see! We stayed with the harvest host program. The animals are so loved and cared for here. You get to see them up close. The hybrid wolf was my favorite. They have a cute western town set up with great picnic spots and beautiful views of the mountains lovely gardens a trail or two to walk along with the walking path to see the animals is concrete looks like some of it was poured by the local Boy Scout group. The animals are the star of the show! The animals seem to enjoy the people coming to see them. My 9 year old loved this stop so much he wants to run a place like this when he grows up. This is a must see! Being from Massachusetts this was a wonderful way to get immersed into New Mexico’s plants, animals and scenery!

Amazing place with wonderful owners! Animals are well cared for and friendly and the couple who own the park are super sweet and obviously care deeply for the animals. Highly recommend visiting if in the area, very much worth seeing.

My wife found this as a harvest host. An interesting place to stop this nature park takes in wildlife that has been injured and gives them new homes. A very interesting tour. You can see the animals and they’re very well taken care of. They offer room for your RV. They could accommodate a large motorhome along with travel trailers and fifth wheels. There’s no water or electric, but it was a quiet place to rest. Felt very safe in this place it is gated. They open the gate at nine and they are locked at six. They give you a list with an emergency contact number in the event of. In your stay all they ask is for a donation. They do have a nice gift shop.
