Trophy Ridge Outfitters

I have hunted with Trophy Ridge Outfitters for years. It’s like being with family when you are there. Not only do they run a great lodge, but they produce great success. As an archery hunter, success isn’t a guarantee, but the guides they use and the knowledge that Trophy Ridge has breeds success. Personally I have had 80% success with my bow, and years without success was due to my decision to not let an arrow fly, but the opportunity was there. If you wish to hunt elk in New Mexico or Arizona I recommend this outfitter without any reservation.

2020 sucked but there was one really bright spot. For my 65th birthday I took both sons (and my wife who doesn’t hunt) to NM to archery elk hunt with Trophy Ridge in September 2020. I have had several wonderful hunts there including a 409” archery bull in 2012 , but this was the best. Typical for a very dry fall the bulls weren’t rutting as hard. Our guides JD, Kevin and Justin busted their tails for us and all three of us tagged out on great 6x6 bulls in unit 15. And they were exciting “TV show” hunts. My oldest son even had a shot at a bear. For an old man running out of runway for mountain hunts it was an emotional moment for me. I have also made many great friendships there over the years that I cherish and I cannot thank Audrey and crew enough. They have a great lodge in unit 15 on the Arizona border and a great lodge on the border of 16A and 16D. Have hunted both, just applied for this year for all of us again !

I hunted mountain lions with Trophy Ridge Outfitters and both me and my dad had successful hunts. Awesome people to hunt with. It was my first big hunt and they made me feel so comfortable and so special. I highly recommend you go with Trophy Ridge Outfitters if you are looking for an outfitter!

For 5 years I joined the lottery with these folks. Last year , the year of the pandemic, I pulled a tag. I never hear a word from them. I was actually doing a project in New Mexico and know the state is shut down. The day of the hunt I get a call asking where am I? Seriously? Not a word. So I pay for the tag and then they charge me for the guide. Ok. I paid. I would not hunt with these folks. They are not honorable.

I’ve hunted with Trophy Ridge Outfitters numerous times and it’s always been a great experience. Top notch guides, nice accommodations and the owners are down to earth people. I highly recommend them if you’re looking at a western big game hunt.
