Amazing hikes, great views. The stay is also very comfortable. Good for a big group or solo
The visitor center was closed when we came 2 days after Christmas, but the trails were open. Went on the mesa trail, which was a 3.8 mile loop. It was a great trail of moderate difficulty. The view from the top of the mesa is really nice. A really fun 3 hour hike, wish I would have had some more time to see the other trails.
Went there in the middle of Covid so just walked the two main trails which are very nice and well marked. The park itself is fascinating with the different climates and areas within a short distance. Not sure if we will stop by again but a very nice park and very easy to get to from the highway.
So beautiful and breathing especially at sunset. They offer lots of great scenic trails and little museums as well. And don't forget the wildlife! We saw lots of deer, coyotes, jackrabbits, and cranes.
It's a great hiking place with some cool views from the top. There are couple of trails with difficulties varying from easy to moderate/difficult, depending on skill. Some trails are not well marked and sandy. So just keep it in mind. Also there is not much shade. Bring water and wear a good hiking boot if planning to go for moderate/difficult trail.
