I went to a hunt at Chase Hill Outfitters last week. I wanted pass along some info on the hunt that I thought people should know before they book a hunt with them. #1 Mule deer on their web site are from many years ago. After a week of hunting from daylight till dark everyday. We did not see any that were close to the ones on their website. I doubt they have any that size anymore. #2 The buck doe ratio is more like 10:1 than 3:1 like the web site states. #3 One other hunter and I paid for Trophy Hunts, being we did not see any real Trophy deer, I shot one that was one of the best ones we saw. It was more of a management deer. In fact one of the other hunters shot a management deer that was better than the “Trophy” hunt I paid for. #4 My friend that I went with me, that also paid for a trophy hunt did not even shoot a deer and was still charged full price. In addition he was charged $250 a day for his wife that did not hunt on top of that. #5 The accommodations were much less than expected. The beds were single beds that were half of a bunk bed. They only had one half bathroom and one full bathroom that were shared by all of the hunters. Overall needless to say, I was disappointed, the people were very nice, and the food was good. Other wise is would have given a them a 1. They do have some great sheep if someone was lucky enough to draw a tag. I just wanted to relay some facts, so people could make an informed decision before Booking.
Great people , Guides are fantastic , saw a ton of deer , prairie dogs, sheep. Bill and Renita are a class act. Come hungry and ready to eat great food.
