Absaroka Beartooth Outfitters

Armed only with a love of fly fishing and an enduring sense of adventure as we hit 60 years of age we decided trekking up a 10000 mountain would be fun! I don’t think we could have imagined what an experience this trip would be and indeed the challenge of it, which we could not have met without the help and expertise of Cameron and all the team. It made it extremely special, and we now take stock and review the many photo’s and look at the map and cannot quite believe what we achieved. The fishing wasn’t bad either! This is no doubt an experience of a lifetime - it is challenging - but as someone who had not ridden a horse for 40+ years it was not insurmountable and my goodness so rewarding and something that will never leave me. Thanks to everyone, just fantastic.

We had an incredible 5-day pack-in fly fishing trip with Absaroka Beartooth Outfitters that exceeded all expectations. Our outfitter, Cameron, guides and camp staff, Ryan and Alyssa, were exceptional—knowledgeable, professional, and a pleasure to spend time with. Every detail was top-notch, from the well-trained horses to the delicious meals and comfortable tent accommodations. The fishing was spectacular as well, with native cutthroat trout caught on every outing. An unforgettable experience-highly recommend!

August 2025 What an adventure! Let me begin with the wonderful hospitality I received upon arrival at the lodge. Just an extraordinary family that takes care of you throughout your stay. Once the trip into the mountains begins on horseback, my stress started to melt away. While I took many pictures, they of course will never tell the whole story, my breath was taken away with the surrounding landscape. The staff bringing you into the wilderness and into camp were also just as fantastic. Their knowledge of the wilderness was second to none. Whether it was exploring, hiking or fishing, connecting with nature benefited me more than I realized. Thank you everyone at Absaroka Beartooth Outfitters. This was something on my bucket list and you made it one of the best experiences of my life.
