Incredible experience visiting for a Mounted Archery Clinic. The facilities are fantastic, sites are easy to access, and there are clean bathrooms and showers. Brandy and David are super hosts and I can't wait for my next visit.
The owner Brandy and her husband are great people. The trails are great and the atmosphere is friendly. The facility and the trails are clean and kept up-to-date. I had just left and was maybe five minutes away when I lost control of my truck and horse trailer. The truck flipped. When Brandy heard about the accident from other people coming to her facility she immediately came to offer any support, including her horse trailer if necessary to come pick up the horse(s). thankfully, my horse and myself were both unharmed. It truly warms my heart to know that there were so many people caring about me that day, and she was one of them. She didn’t know who was in the accident. She only knew that somebody was in need and she answered the call. She was like Batman answering the bat signal. Definitely a true equestrian answering the distress call of another and willing to do whatever was necessary to ensure the safety of both the human and the horse. I highly recommend her facility.
I want to share my experience with Von Holten Ranch. This was an amazing experience that Brandi and David provided for our group of 7 people. We attended Chix in the Sticks event and it was an opportunity I have never had. Brandi provided horse riding experiences through the forest that can be guided or they allow you to ride out on your own or in a group... whenever you want to. I loved this freedom she gave us. The trails were well marked and cleared out for your riding adventure. Each trail is color coded to provide you with an easy short trail to longer and more adventures trails. Loved this!! Brandi goes out twice a day for riders that want to ride with her or maybe not as confident rider. This provided everyone in our group regardless of riding level to pick and choose what your ride looks like. The food...WOW! 3 homemade meals provided by David and Brandi was truly the icing on the cake. I give the meals 5 stars, from homemade pies to a amazing meal with the Mennonites. The meal provided by the Mennonites was homemade noodles, mash potatoes, chicken, ham and much more. The food for our meal was raised by the Mennonites and you can sure tell the difference from store bought food. This was such a good meal. After a wonderful meal we went shopping at the Mennonites tack shop. I could hardly contain my excitement. We all loved buying many treasures there. I want to express how clean the entire ranch was. From the cabins, absolutely beautiful...to the RV hook ups for living quarter trailers are very well kept and easy to get big rigs around. The stalls are super clean and they have a gentleman that will help you keep your stall clean for tips. This young man does a great job with the stalls and cabins keeping the environment clean and welcoming. Our group went to supper in town when a storm hit. David and this young man scrambled around in a rain storm with lighting and pouring rain to make sure our saddles and hay was put in trailers to protect it. This is going above and beyond!!!! They also change a tire on my trailer which I was so grateful. Brandi and David go above and beyond to ensure your experience is top notch. You will not get another ranch that will provide the kindness you will get from them. I highly recommend Von Holten Ranch for your next horse adventure. Even if you don't ride or own a horse go stay in the cabins and join David and Brandi for amazing food and a glimpse into the history of this ranch. A huge thank you to Brandi for all the adventures and activities that she put together to make it extra special! To David, your meals are 5 stars, your ability to build cabins, barns, obstacles from wood for us to play on with our horses and how clean and organized the ranch always stays. David and Brandi are some of the hardest working people I know. David built an obstacle course from wood that he stayed up to almost 4 am for my friend. Then he packed it into my trailer. Talk above and beyond!! He is extremely talented!!! Please consider this place for your next adventure, let's support "Our People"! Sincerely, Stacy Bustos
VHR is an incredibly fun get away for friends and horses. If you need a little escape that feels like a world away this fits the bill. The large outdoor obstacle course is a favorite; it’s a great way to challenge yourself and your horse. New elements added often.Trails are nice, well marked, in good condition. Cute comfortable cabins and lots of hookups. Best camping bathhouse. Brandy and David are excellent hosts and really treat guests like friends.
Von Holten Ranch has truly exceeded all of my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed by a warm and friendly staff who made me feel right at home. The facility offers a perfect blend of adventure and tranquility, with beautiful trails that wind through stunning landscapes, ideal for both beginners and experienced riders alike. What really sets Von Holten Ranch apart though, is the homesteading aspect. I had the opportunity to participate in hands-on learning experiences. Learning about sustainable living practices was so fulfilling to get a glimpse into a simpler, more connected way of life, and I left feeling inspired. If you’re looking for a place to unplug, connect with nature, and experience something truly special, Von Holten Ranch is the perfect destination. I can’t wait to return for another unforgettable adventure!
