Pretty cool place! Has lots to do. The golf course was beautiful! Food is really above resort quality. We enjoyed every meal. Their service is truly top notch! Everyone is friendly and helpful! The rooms in the condos where we stayed were quite dated and furnishings are old and worn but it was clean and spacious! We plan on coming back to camp at their campground.
Last minute decision to take kids and grandkids to Lewis Farms, turned into, let's go early and stay two nights close by. Location for that was great. Just a quick drive down the road. There's a lot to do here, and I can't say everything, as this was our first time, and getting into their off season. Much wasn't operating, but the Summer crowd wasn't there, which is good for me.
This was our second time coming here and first time staying at the campground. The campground itself was great and maintained well and a perfect spot next to The Back Forty. One of my daughter's favorite parts of the weekend was going to the Craft Corner at The Back Forty. Paula, the activities coordinator there, was amazing! She was very friendly and welcoming and it made the experience more enjoyable. They had different activities to do throughout the day which gave a nice break from the water park.
Great place for certain families! We stayed from Monday thru Thursday. Not too busy probably because of spring break! The staff was amazing very polite and took care of us. Water park was fun kids loved it only complaint is it’s very slippery in some areas. Our room was amazing in the Thoroughbred suites! Only complaint is we booked a jacuzzi suite and first night it leaked all over the floor when we filled it up.mazing main level heated parking! Steak house was amazing food! A little pricey but well worth it!! Rustlers roost the pizza is probably the worst greasy pizza I’ve ever had highly do not recommend! Service was great though! Arcade was pretty pathetic lots of machines just ate our money and the prizes are just ridiculous! Overall though double jj resort is well worth the stay.
My wife and I purchased golf certificates that were advertised to specifically play the Arthur Hills Thoroughbred Golf Course. When I called to make our tee time, I mentioned that I had the coupons. When we arrived at the course, we unloaded our golf clubs & carried them to the clubhouse. Upon checking in for our round, we were told they had us scheduled at the Grand View course and were assured that it was a quality course, but that we would have to carry our clubs back to our car, load them up, and drive a few miles up the road to the course. Not ever having played either course, I reluctantly agreed…BIG MISTAKE! Grand View golf course is not a resort-caliber golf course…clover rampant in the fairways, empty sand traps that were full of rocks & weeds. I felt as if we had been victims of a bait-and-switch scam! After playing, I called the resort & asked to speak to the Resort Manager, Mike Donnelly. I had to call him twice before I received a call-back. Mike had delegated the call-back to his Controller, Jeff. When I explained our experience to Jeff, he never apologized, but rather proceeded to tell me how expensive and difficult to run & maintain a golf course it is. I don’t doubt that it is, but not what I wanted to hear. After a bit more conversation, Jeff offered to mail me 2 passes to play The Thoroughbred. That was July 4. Today is August 8 and I still don’t have my passes. I have since called Jeff twice and Mike once and have not received a call-back from either of them. I presume they just don’t care…
