Cranberry bogs that have been left for nature to reclaim great you at the edge of the parking lot. Lots of winding trails criss cross the woods to the south. Plenty of tree stands and signs of game. Property intersects the gas lines and runs even further south to the highway. Just a mile or two to circle the bogs, easy to go on a 10 mile loop if you wonder to far south into to woods.
Entrance is muddy and has large puddles. Well maintained otherwise. Nice fields with abundant birding opportunities. Encountered several hikers and dogs while walking the area.
This is a wildlife management area that is managed by the state, but has been purchased and maintained via the funds generated from hunters license fees over the years. While the public is certainly welcome, visitors should know, and hopefully respect, that this particular land is specifically set aside for hunters and that hunting will be taking place on the grounds.
Huge place. This was my first time here and my dogs first hunt.
Today was our first trip and what an amazing find! Great pheasant hunting lands.
