Doug's Hunting Lodge

Great place to hunt in the fall. Doug and Mary Sonnier have run the best lodge hands down in the country for 40+ yrs. After the passing of Mr.Doug, Mrs. Mary Sonnier and family plan to keep the tradition going at Doug's and hopefully continue to remain atop the best places to hunt ducks and geese worldwide with that preserving the legacy of Mr. Douglas putting people first with his first class attitude and hunting lodge.

Hunted 2018 opening day for two days at Doug’s hunting lodge in Gueydan. While the birds were not very plentiful the care of clients and the accommodations were first class! Mr. Doug and all of his guides and employees were first rate kind and pleasant. The food was speculated, the professionalism and kindness were everywhere. Had the birds been better it would have been perfect, but that cannot be controlled or predicted. The blinds were great, the guides were all great and the food was to die for. I will definitely be hunting with them again this year!! Highly recommend!

Best place to hunt hands down. Mr. Doug and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. Their hospitality is like no other but their food should award winning 🤤♥️. When you arrive they make you feel at home, When you leave, you feel like family.

Great guides, dogs, and blinds! Food was fantastic! Lodge is good, needs a little work. Great time, will definitely be back! Still and always a great hunt...super people...Mr Doug will be missed. 😢🙏

it was my & my friend's 1st duck hunting trip, love the owner and staffs they are so friendly & helpful, so down to earth people, lodge is nice and comfortable, meals were good home cooking, rooms are not fancy but clean and simple. we had a wonderful guide, even without any prior knowledge of gun and hunting, we were able to bagged 6 ducks, what a great experience, no wonder, most other hunters there are yearly returned customers.
