I didn’t know what to expect after the journey to the Lazy H, but man was it worth it! We went there to attend a wedding and got to enjoy the Ranch for a few days prior to the event. The pond was epic and the naturally heated swimming pool was excellent! We really enjoyed our time. It was a beautiful experience to be off grid in such a beautiful place. Highly recommended!
It's very clean but a bit rundown. The groundskeeper is great and the communication was good. My mom rented the facility for a family reunion and said she'd give the facility 5 stars, but this is my opinion. We visited in August. If you're coming from Boise, do yourself a favor and come via Idaho City NOT through Mountain Home! The MTN Home route is half an hour faster but the dirt road was full of hairpin turns and was too narrow to pass for MILES. Everyone who went that route rode their breaks most of the last 1.5 hours. Pros: AMAZING views! The grounds were spectacular and there was plenty to do- pool, hitting, ping-pong, swimming, hiking, some other long table game, movies in the theater room, and more. The wifi was good so we had phone service. The kitchen is pretty well stocked! There was plenty of hot water and water pressure and places to sit and chat. The outdoor seating was also really nice. The temperature inside was pleasant and not too warm. The pool was VERY warm, almost like a hot tub, which was really nice in the cool evenings. Plenty of fridge space and storage for kitchen goods. The commercial ice maker was FABULOUS! Cons: the road to get there was twisted and dirt (but Idaho City route wasn't nearly as scary). The pool was dirty and needs maintenance. Missing tiles, the hot tub is leaking, the surface is pitted. My room had a tiny showerhead with uneven spray. The shower enclosure had a folding door and is probably from the 70s or 80s. The bathroom counter was chipped Formica with a rusty drain. The bed was on the hard side and there were no overhead lights. The window had to be held up with a piece of wood because it doesn't start up on it's own. Or was clean and the carpet was in good shape, just worn. We had to make the beds ourselves, which was a lot with 45 people. The dishwasher was broken so all dishes had to be hand washed. A lot of the wood finishes (though not the floors) could stand to be refinished and there wasnt as much freezer space as we could have wished. The linens were worn and a lot of the elastic on the sheets was wearing out. The pillows were flat so I'd have brought my own, except I flew in from our of town. Overall it was a very pleasant experience and we had a great time.
I've had the pleasure of photographing two weddings at the Lazy H Ranch, and I'm continuously impressed what is possible at this property. It's pretty incredible to have 50 of your closest friends or family able to stay onsite and completely disconnect into nature. The outdoor ceremony location is breathtaking. And there's so much to do during your visit; endless trails, a natural hot spring pool/hot tube and a private lake with kayaks to name a few. Atlanta is a true Idaho gem, and Lazy H Ranch really takes it to the next level.
It's probably the prettiest place I've ever been. My sister has a cabin up there, and I take a yearly trip from the east coast to the great adventure land of Atlanta Idaho. This year, my nephew had his wedding at the Lazy H Ranch. It blew my mind. I didn't think the views could get any better than what I've seen over the past 5ish years, but yep, it did. The view took my breath away.
Amazing!!! So great i have never been to a place so beautiful in my life
