Sunset Hills Bison Ranch

Our family of 16 stayed two nights and had a lovely time exploring the property, seeing the bison, having a campfire, taking dips in the little feeder pools, grilling, and casually enjoying each other’s company. We brought our bikes which was helpful to get back and forth between the wagons and the lodge. There’s a safe shed in case of inclement weather, and they also have a few yard games available.

The property and Bison are amazing. Bethany was so kind and accommodating. She was incredibly sweet with our young kids. This is a natural oasis of relaxation and Iowa farm life.

Was a short visit for a ranch tour at MNBA conference. Nice atmosphere. Could see this being a wonderful place to camp or stay if had things going on in the area. Especially in the late spring when bison calves may be born.

Our stay in the covered wagon was truly exceptional. After a hectic work trip that turned into a bit of a whirlwind, this experience provided the perfect, unexpected retreat I didn’t realize I needed. The bison were a majestic sight, and the friendly horses and cats added to the charm. The hosts generously provided groceries for us to make delicious bison burgers, which were absolutely incredible. The wagon’s interior was beautiful and the bed was incredibly comfortable, giving me the best sleep I’ve had in a long time. This stay was a delightful, serene escape, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a unique and relaxing experience.

Had a great time. The wagons were in great shape and very unique to stay in. It was very relaxing overlooking the field of bison. The bison meat on sale was also very tasty. They hosts were very responsive when needed.
