Little House on the Farm

Fantastic accommodations and a beautiful farmhouse setting. Our son was enthralled by the friendly kittens, goats, cows and more. Every part of the barn we stayed in was carefully planned and designed in a way to create a unique yet comfortable experience. The farm makes for a great base being so close to Decorah and also not too far away from Yellow River State Forest, Effigy Mounds and Pikes Peak State Park. Thank you for creating such a lovely place to get away at!

A quiet and quaint Little House on the farm place to stay. We spent our 50th wedding anniversary here while exploring Decorah and the Driftless Area Scenic Byway. Also enjoyed biking the Trout Run trail. We highly recommend this as a place to stay.

If you are near this area, highly recommend you stay here instead of a hotel. We were so happy with our last minute decision to stay here!! We stayed in the Guest Barn house and it comfortably slept 5 of us (there was room for one more). The kids loved the barn like atmosphere and the farm life around us. The hosts/owners were very accommodating, and the breakfast was great! Plan a trip for a weekend stay! We loved it. The cats and chickens were an added bonus for my kids 😉

We discovered this gem online and booked directly through Pat. Ken and I were visiting NE Iowa with friends and stayed 2 nights at The Little House on the Farm, making ourselves a central point to come “home” to. We loved the peace, the rustic charm, walks near the tall corn, the free range chickens and rooster and a chat to Pat about their beautiful historic barn. My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary and it was even better than we had imagined! The hosts make you feel welcome immediately and the farm is every bit as peaceful and relaxing as it looks. I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone looking for a quiet and peaceful place to stay. It's worth a special trip just to stay here!
