3 Hills Hunting Preserve
Reviews
My family comes out every year to go hunting. We do pretty well hunting public lands. However, this was a nice change of pace. The hunting plot was a beautiful piece of land. You will definitely need a dog. We saw a lot of pheasants and even some quail.
Was not very pleased with my experience. Reserved a field for my dogs 1st birthday. Two guys and 8 birds. We start hunting and about halfway we look behind us and 3 other guys are in the same field. Might I add the wind was blowing to them. So when all our birds flushed they’d flush to where we couldn’t shoot them. We ended up only shooting two birds while we watched other hunters in our field take the birds that we could not longer pursue to hunt. I wish I would’ve been told to come another day, as we only got about 30 minutes to ourself. Regardless it’s good to get out but this really had us furious seeing people in the same field as us and not being able to hunt all the birds we purchased.
We had a great morning hunt at Three Hills. The staff are friendly. We hunted our own dogs and they did great. Far more reasonable in price than most other locations in the state.
Have hunted at Three Hills for the last couple of years and have had only a great experience. Ron and his team are first rate and really care about you having a good time. The cover and the birds are the best in the area.
The experience there was awesome. I went there to go trap shooting and anybody who lives in Dubuque knows there is no place to go here. Anyways, Ron was very patient and even took the time to give us advice on better shooting. I haven't got the chance to go hunting, but will take the opportunity on the veterans hunt. Thanks again for the amazing experience.
