21 JULY 2024 Bruce and the Adam's Lodge Outfitters family, I struggled to find the right words to describe the beauty of this place and the profound gratitude I have for the time you have given me here. As I sit by the campfire early this morning before the rest of our group stirs from their cots, I find myself not missing the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Birds chirping, coffee brewing, breeze through the trees. If only life could be this simple, this peaceful and serene all the time. For those of us from Freedom Alliance that are here on this trip, it is not an easy thing to quiet a mind that has experienced heavy combat in a foreign land. The wounds of war are more commonly non-visible, they are wounds that fester in the mind, in our hearts and in our souls. Although society may have forgotten about our time in places like Iraq and Afghanistan, busy as they are being distracted by tick tock and social media and a world trying to sell them things they don't need, we combat veterans have not forgotten. We carry with us the memories of the heroes we knew that never made it home. It's a burden we proudly carry, because we are strong enough to do it, and so that others don't have to. And so, coming to a place like this, where life slows down, where majestic views abound, the air is crisp, the water is pure and the mosquitoes are savages, it gives us a much-needed break to hit that reset button. We pause and reflect, and in doing so, we further along the healing process. Thank you for this wonderful experience and thank you for being Americans worth fighting for. I've had the opportunity the past 2 years to go on a wilderness horse pack/camping trip with Adams Lodge Outfitters. Bruce and his outfitters take amazing care of the group of us ladies that go on this trip. They are professional, caring and all around wonderful people. I look forward to many more trips with them!
Wish I could give more stars. Around 7am I called two outfitters for a pack out where my elk had been quartered for over 24 hours and hung in a tree. Bruce from Adams lodge answered on his day off and it sounded like he was still in bed but I explained the situation and he said he would see what he could do. He ended up meeting me at a trailhead with a team of horses and his fiancé a couple hours later, early, and we packed out my elk for a reasonable price. The other outfitter never even called me back. Thank you Adams Lodge!
Hired Bruce from Adams Lodge for a couple pack-ins and pack-outs and can't recommend Adams Lodge enough. Prices are fair, always on time, super nice, and great knowledge of the area. I will definitely be working with Adams Lodge again for future hunts in the Flat Tops.
Don't go here. We knew it was bad when there was only 1 group that had hunted with them previously. No firewood no help or guidance on where to hunt. Outfitter showed up an hour late to trailhead. Well over half the camps left the first couple of days. We have hunted Colorado 7 times before this hunt.
