Blue Rooster Hunting Ranch

Love this ranch! Booked my hubby a boar hunt spent a night at the lodge which was fantastic! Tyrell was our guide such a nice guy very welcoming! The hunt was great lots of petroglyphs my kids had a blast! Can't wait to go back for another hunt!

Yakity yak! What an amazing day at Blue Rooster Ranch. We came to celebrate a milestone birthday, and the hospitality from Tom and Trent went above and beyond. Our guide, Tyrell, was fantastic and made it unforgettable. The weather held out, the setting was beautiful, and it was truly the best day. We’ll definitely be back!

Review for Blue Rooster Ranch – Texas This was my first hunting trip ever, and also the first high-fence hunt for a couple of us in our group, so we weren’t exactly sure what to expect. After leaving and looking into other ranches in Texas that offer similar hunts at comparable prices, I can’t help but feel like we got a little burned by Blue Rooster. We all originally wanted to hunt an Oryx, but there was really only one decent-sized one available that seemed worth the asking price. One member of our group went for that, but the rest of us had to switch to other exotic species because the selection just wasn’t there. Our guide talked up the animals as “monsters,” but in reality, the options didn’t match that description. The lodging was disappointing as well. The house itself is nice at first glance, but when we arrived there were dirty dishes in the sink, and the water was nearly unusable. The sulfur smell was so strong it reeked like rotten eggs, which made showers miserable. On top of that, the only bathroom in the house had very low water pressure in the toilet—definitely not ideal when you’ve got a group staying there. For the price point, I expected better service and higher-quality accommodations. Other ranches in Texas seem to offer more attentive hosting and better setups for similar costs. I do understand the ranch is under new ownership, and I truly hope they can use this as honest feedback to improve the experience going forward. I wish them the best of luck in growing Blue Rooster into the kind of destination hunters will rave about.

The entire experience was absolutely amazing from start to finish. This ranch is great for everyone from experienced hunters to someone just getting into hunting. Tom and his crew are beyond incredible! They truly make you feel like family when you’re there. I always hunted small game and this was my first big animal, Tom stuck with us the whole time and made it one of the best experiences ever! We did not stay in the ranch house but I did walk through and it is incredibly clean. We will absolutely be returning to their Arizona location soon and will be planning a trip next year to their Texas location.
